February 22, 2021, Dubai, UAE – Amaeya Media, one of the Middle East and North Africa's largest podcast networks, announced the launch of its latest branded podcast, What I Did Next. The new show explores life's pivot points, both professional and personal, by bringing stories of individuals connected to the Middle East and the circumstances that altered their lives.
Aligning with Amaeya Media's mission to unlock the untapped potential of on-demand audio content for the MENA region, What I Did Next is the 17th show in the Network's portfolio, and is the company's second show that is created out of Egypt. The show debuted in the Top 10 in the Apple Podcasts charts for the UAE, Kuwait, Algeria, Qatar and Jordan, as well in the top 10 in the Society & Culture category for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Algeria, Oman, Qatar, Jordan and Mauritius. Amaeya Media's portfolio also includes chart-topping shows like Tales of the Trade, the DeCluttr Me podcast, and The Lighthouse Conversations.
What I did Next is hosted by A&T Media’s founder, Malak Fouad. Malak has had a long career in the media, beginning in journalism in New York, London and Cairo before moving towards PR and consultancy. Malak has worked for both glossy magazines and daily newspapers and brings well-honed interview skills to the burgeoning podcast medium (in the Middle East).
“While I was completing an MA in Global Affairs I was commuting back and forth in Cairo traffic and found podcasts to be a very entertaining as well as informative way to spend the time. I immediately felt that I wanted to get involved and as soon as I was done with my degree I began laying the foundation of What I Did Next. It’s been a super fun and exciting journey so far.”
--Malak Fouad
A&T Media is a specialised audio content production house, with a focus on podcasts. Further podcasts are being planned.
What I Did Next will release new episodes twice a month, every second Thursday, and is in English. The show’s initial guests include Sawari Ventures co-founder Ahmed Alfi, Gourmet Egypt’s Jalal Abu Ghazaleh and Dina Sultan, and Injaz founder Dina El-Mofty. Malak will explore the guests’ personal and professional journeys, and examine those moments and people behind them, rather than about fame or fortune.
Season one of What I Did Next is now live on all leading podcast players, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Anghami, Deezer and more.
